Tegula (gastropod)
Tegula is a genus of small to medium-sized sea snails, or marine gastropod molluscs, in the family Trochidae, the top snails.
This genus, and many other genera in the family Trochidae, are commonly called "top snails" because of their shape, which is like an old-fashioned spinning top.
The function of heart may have a critical importance for the temperature tolerance of Tegula snails.[2]
